The things I say and the things I do reflect not just on me, but the 650,000 people who live between Akron and Youngstown and sent me to Washington. These are strong people who witnessed the greatest comforts of industrial age America, had that life stripped away and only just now are starting to see the seeds of economic revival start to sprout. We are people who don’t respond to talk, because we’ve heard it all, we respond to results. Because of this, I don’t take endorsements lightly.
I’d like to share some video with you from the floor, but first I want to explain what’s happening. We are still debating the Labor-HHS Appropriations bill and I wanted to let you know what this fight is really about.

Hey everyone, first off let me introduce myself. I'm Brad Bauman, Congressman Ryan's Communications Director. The Congressman is in a meeting right now but wanted me to give you a quick update on what's been going on today on the floor of the House. For the past 24 hours the Democratic majority in the House has tried to pass two key Appropriations bills that would protect our nation against terrorists and provide world class health care for our veterans.

As many of you know, I've been taking the Food Stamp Challenge in which me and three of my colleagues are trying to live on $21.00 a week, which is the average benefit of a food stamp recipient. You can read all about it on my website. It's been a phenominal experience and I've learned alot (like the fact that TSA considers jelly a banned substance).

This afternoon I was invited to participate and speak at the 37th Commemoration of Kent State. I joined Cindy Sheehan, Rosemary Palmer and other invited guests to mark a solmn and tragic event that galvanized a nation engaged in an unjust and questionable war much like today.
